We recommend that you do a basic inspection and cleaning/vacuuming of your bedroom or affected spaces first and foremost. Eliminating clutter is often half the battle against nuisance bugs, since it leaves them fewer places to hide.
Preparing to Apply DE! BLITZ
- Remove any packaging tape from the nozzle and bottle that keeps it secure and leak-proof during shipping.
- Before and during each usage, give the bottle a good shake. Some of the contents may settle at the bottom or sides of the bottle during shipping and storage, so it’s helpful to smack the bottom and sides with the bottle with your hand a few times to knock the silica loose and allow it to mix well prior to use. (Always store your bottle of BLITZ upright to maintain its general consistency.)
How to Apply DE! BLITZ
Apply directly to bedbugs or ants you find and to their known travel routes and hiding places. For bedbugs, this is usually the edges, corners, seams, and the underside of your mattress and bed frame. Inspect your mattress seams and bed frame, then apply the spray liberally throughout.
Adjust the nozzle to produce a consistent volume of mist and spray to saturate both bed bugs and effectively cover their traffic routes for residual, long term defense and repelling power.
Look for common signs of bed bugs like old exoskeletons/shells or empty bed bug eggs and droppings, as well as stains on and around your mattress.
It is recommended to avoid direct contact with the product and your skin. While DE! BLITZ is generally safe, prolonged contact with the product could dry out or irritate your skin or eyes, and it’s not advisable for people, pets or small children to loiter in a freshly treated area, breathing in any spray fumes directly after application.
Make your application/treatment and leave the space for a few hours before returning to sleep, or cover the area you treated with your mattress liner by pulling it back down over the seams.
Other Considerations and Warnings
For both effectiveness and safety, following best practices is essential.
DE! BLITZ is an important part of a larger plan that includes non-chemical methods like thoroughly vacuuming all affected areas, washing and drying all bedding and clothing on the highest heat settings, and encasing mattresses and box springs (optional).
Most bed bugs hide within a few feet of your bed, so check the floor, baseboards, underneath electrical outlet plate coverings nearby, and nightstands, dressers, and drawers.
When applying the spray, target cracks, crevices, bed frames, and mattress seams, folds, and tufts, but avoid applying it to surfaces that will have prolonged human contact.
Always remove children, pets, birds, and cover fish tanks from the area before spraying. The room must be vacated after application and thoroughly ventilated before re-entry, and no one should touch treated surfaces until they are completely dry.
If using the product on ants, ensure that you also clean the space and remove all traces of food, which may be attracting them. Investigate the cracks, seams, corners, edges, and usual pathways they travel along when making your treatment application using the spray.
Final Considerations
Defensive End! BLITZ is a contact killer; however, the result may not be immediate. It may take time for the full effect to set in once a bug has been sprayed with the solution.
Often times, an affected bug will crawl around for 10 to 20 minutes before perishing. This is normal.
Additionally, the residue left behind from the product after spraying a bug pest or an area prone to bug traffic provides a lasting deterrent and barrier.
Thanks again for purchasing Defensive End! BLITZ!
